Update 18-April-2021: JEE Main 2021 April session exams postponed due to rising Covid-19 cases

JEE Main 2021 JEE Advanced 2021 - Exam Dates, Eligibility Criteria and Other Important Changes

www.indiastudysolution.com - EduNews
  • JEE Advanced 2021 exam will be organized by IIT Kharagpur and held on July 3, 2021.
  • Until 2020, students were required to score either minimum 75% in Class 12 Board Exam or be among the top 20 percentile in their board exams, in addition to qualifying the IIT Advanced exam, to get into any of the 23 IITs. From 2021 this eligibility criteria of 75% marks in Class 12 Board Exam has been removed for the convenience of students.

  • On December 16, the education minister had announced that the JEE Main 2021, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be held four times a year in February, March, April and May. The first slot of JEE Main is from February 23-26, 2021. The next sessions of the exam will be held between March 15-18, April 27-30 and May 24-28.

  • Students will be given a choice to answer 75 questions (25 each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) out of 90 (30 each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). Merit list/ranking will be prepared based on the best score of the candidate.
  • Here this can be recalled that JEE Main is the exam for entry into undergraduate engineering courses. Those who will qualify in this exam can appear for the JEE Advanced which is the entrance examination for admissions into the IITs. The examination will be held in 13 languages including Hindi, English, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Tamil, Odia, Telugu, Kannada, Urdu, Malayalam, Punjabi and Gujarati.

Will NTA conduct NEET twice a year | How many times one can appear in NEET

NEET FAQs

Doubts, Confusions about NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test)

https://www.indiastudysolution.com
Will NTA conduct NEET twice a year ?

How many times NEET exam is held in a year ?

Will neet be conducted two times in 2021 ?

Answer:

Please be informed that till 2020 NTA used to conduct National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) once in a year with more than 71,000 undergraduate seats i.e. MBBS admissions across the country.

However, MBBS admissions in AIIMS and JIPMER which until 2019 were done through their own separate exams will this year be based on NEET 2020 scores followed by counselling. Implementation of the NMC Act and cessation of both AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS exams have created a greater demand for NEET which may ultimately force to conduct the NEET examination twice a year in future. NTA has already received various proposals and suggestions that the exam be conducted twice a year.

AIIMS MBBS was tougher than any other medical entrance test in India. To maintain the standards of the Institution, NTA has been advised by several experts to focus on the pattern of the NEET question paper. Expecting an increase in the difficulty level of the examination, various student bodies have requested NTA to increase the frequency of the examination to twice a year, like JEE Main, to enable them to pick the best score of the two exams.  So, there are some discussions and planning going on at primary level and frequency of NEET may be increased to twice a year from the academic session 2021-2022 for which the confirmation is yet to come. However, this would be possible only after the final nod from the central health ministry.

Nevertheless, there would be certain benefits as well as difficulties of conducting or appearing NEET twice in a year. (If you want to know about this, please let us know in the comment section. We can discuss about the various pros and cons of having NEET twice in a different post).

Is there any restriction of number of attempts in NEET exam ?

How many times one can appear in NEET ?

Answer:

There is no such attempt limit in NEET till 2020, only age limit is applicable.

NEET Eligibility: Are Private and NIOS Candidates eligible to appear in NEET exam conducted by NTA ?

Doubts and Questions regarding Eligibility for NEET (UG) Exam

Can a private candidate give NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test - UG) ?

Are private candidates eligible to appear in NEET exam conducted by NTA ?

Does private candidates appear in the NEET Exam ?

Are the NIOS candidates passed 10+2 from Open School eligible for NEET ?

Answer:

Till today Candidates who have passed 10+2 from Open School or as private candidates shall not be eligible to appear for ‘National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test’. To be eligible to appear in NEET You should have studied for a continuous period of two years as a regular student, studying Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at 10+2 level.

However, this matter is lying before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, Hon’ble High Court of Allahabad, Lucknow Bench and Hon’ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur. The provisions of the regulations disqualifying recognized Open School Board candidates and the candidates who have studied Biology/Biotechnology as an additional Subject has been struck down. Keeping in view of this, candidates who have passed 10+2 level with Biology as an additional subject will also be eligible for MBBS Entrance Examination (as per Hon’ble High Court Order No. 2341/-W/DHC/WRIT/D-1/2019 dated 24/09/2019 in the Writ Petition (C) No. 6773/2019).

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has preferred Special Leave Petitions before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and Appeals in the Hon’ble High Courts. Therefore, the candidature of candidates in the NEET (UG)-2020 who have passed the qualifying examinations i.e. 10+2 from National Institute of Open Schooling or State Open Schools or as private candidates from recognized State Boards; or with Biology/Biotechnology as additional subject shall be allowed but subject to the outcome of Special Leave Petitions/Appeals filed by the Medical Council of India).

Further, CBSE candidates who have opted for Biology as an additional subject, private candidates, and distant learning candidates, all these candidates are eligible for NEET and hence, can appear in the NEET Exam (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test - UG), which is conducted by NTA, like a regular candidate. He/she should have 50% marks in your intermediate as an unreserved candidate and 45% for reserved candidates (OBC/SC/ST).
