In an unprecedented event, King George’s Medical University (KGMU) team caught a candidate with a forged mark sheet, an allotment letter, and other documents during counselling for NEET-UG 2023 candidates seeking admission in MBBS and BDS courses. The candidate had claimed to have scored 681 out of 720, while his actual score was 366. KGMU officials checked the NEET 2023 merit list and found that he had not been allotted a seat in any medical college.

KGMU team said that the student had actually scored 366 marks in NEET UG 2023 but produced a mark sheet showing his score 681 out of 720 along with a false allotment letter for admission in MBBS, BDS.

When questioned, the student was unable to respond convincingly. On Tuesday, the institution conducted the first round of UP NEET UG counselling for 2023. The next round is scheduled to start on August 16 and the merit list will be released on August 19. Students who did not receive a spot in the first round of registration are still eligible to participate in Round 2.
