Will NTA conduct NEET twice a year | How many times one can appear in NEET

NEET FAQs

Doubts, Confusions about NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test)

https://www.indiastudysolution.com
Will NTA conduct NEET twice a year ?

How many times NEET exam is held in a year ?

Will neet be conducted two times in 2021 ?

Answer:

Please be informed that till 2020 NTA used to conduct National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) once in a year with more than 71,000 undergraduate seats i.e. MBBS admissions across the country.

However, MBBS admissions in AIIMS and JIPMER which until 2019 were done through their own separate exams will this year be based on NEET 2020 scores followed by counselling. Implementation of the NMC Act and cessation of both AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS exams have created a greater demand for NEET which may ultimately force to conduct the NEET examination twice a year in future. NTA has already received various proposals and suggestions that the exam be conducted twice a year.

AIIMS MBBS was tougher than any other medical entrance test in India. To maintain the standards of the Institution, NTA has been advised by several experts to focus on the pattern of the NEET question paper. Expecting an increase in the difficulty level of the examination, various student bodies have requested NTA to increase the frequency of the examination to twice a year, like JEE Main, to enable them to pick the best score of the two exams.  So, there are some discussions and planning going on at primary level and frequency of NEET may be increased to twice a year from the academic session 2021-2022 for which the confirmation is yet to come. However, this would be possible only after the final nod from the central health ministry.

Nevertheless, there would be certain benefits as well as difficulties of conducting or appearing NEET twice in a year. (If you want to know about this, please let us know in the comment section. We can discuss about the various pros and cons of having NEET twice in a different post).

Is there any restriction of number of attempts in NEET exam ?

How many times one can appear in NEET ?

Answer:

There is no such attempt limit in NEET till 2020, only age limit is applicable.
