According to the sources CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has decided to follow an interdisciplinary approach in value education where values are intermingled with the content of all the major subjects in Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12. Five per cent weightage will be added in the major subjects including English, Hindi, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Accountancy, History, Geography, Business Studies, Entrepreneurship and Economics in Classes IX, X, XI and XII through Value Based Questions which will be integrated with the content of the subject and analyzed on the basis of the values it reflects that will be designed in making the question papers of CBSE Board Exams.

According to this latest pattern in CBSE Board Examinations, the value-based questions will carry 5 marks in a paper of 100 marks and 3-4 marks in a question paper of 70-90 marks.
